The Sunday Reset: An At-Home Facial for Autumn Skin

The Sunday Reset: An At-Home Facial for Autumn Skin

23 October 2026 2 min read

There is a version of skincare that happens in ninety seconds, twice a day, usually while thinking about something else. It works well enough. What it does not do is give skin the kind of deeper attention that autumn, with its drier air, its shorter days and its returning actives, genuinely benefits from.

An hour once a week covers that gap. Here is how to structure it.

Start with a proper double cleanse

A weekly reset is the one time it is worth cleansing twice without rushing. Cleansing Complex first, worked in for a full minute rather than the usual ten seconds, then again to take off what the first pass loosened.

If skin is looking dull rather than sensitive, Cleansing Complex Polish is the better second step: it adds gentle physical exfoliation, which is often all autumn skin needs to look less flat.

Warm, then cool

The principle behind the professional Fire & Ice facial translates well to a home routine: something active and warming to resurface, then something cooling to calm and hydrate. The Warm Up, Cool Down At Home Facial Regime is built around exactly that sequence and takes the guesswork out of the timings.

If you would rather assemble it yourself, Tri-Active Masque does the active step, followed by Hydra-Intensive Cooling Mask to settle everything down afterwards. Ten to fifteen minutes each is plenty.

Treat while skin is receptive

Skin takes up what follows a mask more readily than at any other point in the week, so this is where your more targeted products earn their place. Copper Firming Mist over damp skin, then Super Serum Advance+ or Pro-Heal Serum Advance+ depending on whether your priority is radiance or calming.

Finish with something substantial (Reparative Moisture Emulsion or Youth Intensive Creme) and leave it at that. The reset is not the night to introduce a new active.

Work it around your actives, not against them

If you are using retinol or an at-home peel through autumn, leave a clear night on either side of your reset. Two resurfacing steps in close succession is the most common way people end up sensitised in October, and it undoes the point of the exercise.

Why the ritual matters as much as the products

An hour on a Sunday evening is a realistic commitment in a season where most people are home earlier anyway. Skin responds to consistency, and a weekly reset is far easier to keep to through autumn and winter than an elaborate routine you will have abandoned by November.
